Should I be posting, tweeting or pinning?

Social media can be a minefield and you will probably receive different advice on which platform to use and how frequently that you should be updating your social media and even what type of content that you should be using, but here are some things to consider when using social media for your business.
The very first thing you should consider is what is the best platform for your business?
This does depend on what service or product that your business offers and also whether your customers are other businesses or whether they are consumers.
So if you are business to business company then LinkedIn is very important and twitter is often used more for B2B, but if you are selling to consumers then Facebook works well, and if you have a very visual product that you sell, such as clothing then Pinterest may be another option for you.
So where do you start?
With both Facebook and Twitter you can set up your profile to mirror your existing company branding, but Pinterest and LinkedIn are limited in to your logo and then of course I haven’t mentioned Google+ yet, which every business should have along with Google My Business.
So with all these different platforms it is no wonder that a lot of businesses don’t know where to start, so they don’t start, but it is important to have at least a small social media presence as this can help drive traffic to your website and Google likes to see this so it can also have a positive effect on your website ranking.
The best advice I can give you if you’re unsure where to start and which platform is best for you, is to start with the platform that you prefer using, if you prefer Facebook to Twitter then use Facebook, as you are more likely to add updates and that is what social media is about really, is promoting your brand and building trust in the brand.
As social media is such a massive topic, I have only skimmed the surface with this blog, but I will write further blogs to offer you more help to improve your social media presence.
So I hope you like it and please feel free to share your thoughts by adding a comment and if you would like to have a chat about a new website then please contact me.
So until next time, keep smiling and good luck in your Business or everything that you choose to do.
